The world is generally so restless, that men scarcely ever think of the present time, and the instant they are now actually living, but of those in which they are to live. So that we are always in a disposition to live in future, but never to live now.

Die Welt ist so unruhig, daß man fast nie an das gegenwärtige Leben denkt, an den Augenblick, wo man wirklich lebt, sondern an den, wo man erst zu leben gedenkt. So findet man sich immer in dem Stande, daß man erst leben will, und nicht, daß man jetzt wirklich lebt.
